  • Devils' Dalton Prout: Tagging in following suspension Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/8/17) Updating a previous item, Prout will play Saturday after serving his two-game suspension, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Prout was initially deemed to be a healthy scratch, but evidently he'll suit up after all. Still, he doesn't move the needle in leagues that don't go crazy handing out points for time spent in the sin bin.

Devils' Dalton Prout: Suspension over, but still scratched

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/8/17) While Prout is technically eligible to return from suspension Saturday, NHL.com has him listed as a healthy scratch for the home contest against the Islanders.

Prout was hit with a ban after drawing an interference penalty on Radko Gudas in an April 1 contest against the Flyers, when he racked up 20 PIM. Still, Prout likely remains waiver fodder is just about any league that doesn't offer huge rewards for a guy spending time in the bin.

Devils' Dalton Prout: Suspended next two games

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/3/17) Prout was assessed a two-game suspension Monday for interference on the Flyers' Radko Gudas, per the NHL Department of Player Safety.

The DPS ingled out the fact that Prout targeted Gudas for a previous hit on a teammate and designated him with a repeat offender tag in their explanation. The defender has periodically been a healthy scratch and has managed just two helpers in his 12 games with the Devils, which should limit the impact his absence has on fantasy owners.

Devils' Dalton Prout: Busy in team debut

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/4/17) Prout played a season-high 18:56 in Saturday's game against the Capitals, Andrew Gross of the North Jersey Record reports.

After falling out of favor with head coach John Tortorella in Columbus, it appears Prout has found a home in Newark. While the extra usage might not necessarily translate into offense, he has logged plenty of hits and blocked shots over the years. Prout might be a player to watch down the stretch in deeper pools if his ice time continues to stay in the 18-20 minute range.

Devils' Dalton Prout: Acquired from Columbus

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/1/17) Prout was brought in from the Blue Jackets in a swap for Kyle Quincey on Wednesday, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.

In a straight exchange of defesenmen, Prout will get a chance to crack the lineup in New Jersey, something he was unable to do in Columbus. Even when he has been active, the 26-year-old averaged a mere 13:04 of ice time per game in his limited 15 outings and garnered three helpers. Unless he can secure regular starts, Prout will likely remain fantasy irrelevant.
