  • Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Scores against Florida

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/22/17) Nugent-Hopkins scored a goal and registered three shots on net during Wednesday's win over Florida.

While it's a relatively mild offensive outbreak (two goals and two helpers through four games), it still represents one Nugent-Hopkins' better runs this season. The 23-year-old pivot cannot find any traction in the points column, and his 8.2 shooting percentage is well below the 11.6 mark he posted over the previous three campaigns. It isn't out of the question to count on Nugent-Hopkins to continue providing more offense through the end of the year, but it's also worth noting that he's clearly the No. 2 center in all situations behind Connor McDavid. A speculative grab could pay off, but you'll also want to have a short leash with RNH.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Snaps seven-game drought with multi-point effort

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/17/17) Nugent-Hopkins registered a goal, an assist and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Flyers.

Nugent-Hopkins came in scoreless with a minus-4 rating over the past seven games, so this was a welcome turnaround. His .48-point per game pace is well below the .71 mark the 23-year-old center had coming into the season, as playing on the third line has really taken its toll.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Posts multi-point game against Flames

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/22/17) Nugent-Hopkins scored his tenth goal of the season and assisted on another Saturday against Calgary.

It was a great night for the second line of Nugent-Hopkins, Eberle and Pouliot, who tore apart the Flames. The Nuge has been producing consistently of late, piling on two goals and six points in his last seven games. While his 10 goals and 25 points in 49 games are disappointing, Nugent-Hopkins appears to be trending in the right direction and is firing lots of pucks on net. Given his top-six role and potential, the 23-year-old is worth owning in most fantasy leagues.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Three-game point streak

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/19/17) Nugent-Hopkins pitched in an assist and two shots in 21:14 of ice time during Wednesday's win over Florida.

It's been a far cry from being his best season, but Nugent-Hopkins is now on a three-game point streak and has posted a goal and three assists over the last five games. There's a fair chance the goal scoring picks up. With a career shooting percentage of 10.5 percent, he's shooting a full three-and-a-half percent lower. If that rebound begins, he could be a good pick up. He's taking 2.7 shots per game, the highest mark of his career.

Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Scores game-winning goal in overtime

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/19/16) Nugent-Hopkins scored in overtime to beat St. Louis on Monday.

The tally snapped a three-game point drought, and with just six goals and 16 points through 34 games, Nugent-Hopkins is having the worst season of his career. While he's still just 23 years old, unless the offense starts coming soon, it'll be time to cut ties in all seasonal leagues. However, on the flip side, this might be a great buy-low time in keeper/dynasty settings.

  • April 7, 2015: Oilers' Nugent-Hopkins Out Tuesday
Nugent-Hopkins won't play Tuesday versus the Kings, according to the Edmonton Sun.Nugent-Hopkins was unable to practice Monday, so his unavailability for Tuesday's game doesn't come as much of a surprise. His absence for a second consecutive game will allow coach Todd Nelson's experimentation with Taylor Hall at the top-line center spot to continue.
