| Rick DiPietro made comments like "I thought about driving my car into a tree". Taken out of context one might think he was suicidal, he's not, just upset about the demotion. He also stated that he "felt like someone ripped out my heart and stuck a knife in it and then lit it on fire and then flushed it down the toilet". Strong words coming from someone who hasn't lived up to his potential and ironic as that is exactly how most Islander fans feel about his play the past few years. (Updated 2/28/13). |
