Manchester United can start dreaming of Champions League glory. On Wednesday, the Red Devils beat Ajax 2-0 in the Europa League final in Stockholm to clinch a spot in the UCL group stage next season. Paul Pogba scored the winner in the first half, as United finished its mediocre season off the best way it could, winning the competition for the first time. Here's what to know:

Game-changing moment

Manchester United's winner came early in the first half when Paul Pogba's shot was deflected into the goal by a defender. Take a look, as Ajax was unlucky:

The nail in the coffin

Ajax tried to battle back but rarely threatened an inspired United defense, and then it was Henrikh Mkhitaryan who doubled United's lead early in the second half with an acrobatic golazo.

What the result means

The result gives United just what it wanted, a spot in the Champions League group stage. They'll also play the winner of Juventus and Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup before the start of next season. But it is not all lost for Ajax. They finished second in the Dutch league and are in the UCL third qualifying round.

Overall, it wasn't a convincing performance from United, and more talent is needed if this team is to contend for the UCL title or Premier League title next campaign. Despite the win, United wasn't very good on the night and won't get much done next year if it continues like this. Got the job done, but much more difficult work to come.
