Real Madrid breaks Barcelona's unbelievable unbeaten record without Ronaldo
Real Madrid has gone 40 games without a loss, and they kept the streak alive in dramatic fashion
Real Madrid reached a historic mark on Thursday, and the club did it without likes of Cristiano Ronaldo. Real stretched its unbeaten run to 40 games, beating Barcelona's record by drawing 3-3 at Sevilla in the Copa del Rey round of 16. Real advanced 6-3 overall after the two legs and establishes the brilliant, unbelievable mark in the process.
Down 3-1 late, it was Sergio Ramos' penalty kick goal and this piece of skill from Karim Benzema that saw the team avoid defeat.

According to social media statiscian MisterChip, there is another streak to go after. It's Juventus' 43-match unbeaten streak from 2011-12.
Here are Real Madrid's next five games:
- at Sevilla on Jan. 15
- vs. Malaga on Jan. 21
- vs. Real Sociedad on Jan. 29
- at Celta Vigo on Feb. 5
- at Osasuna on Feb. 11
