There are certain things you do when trying to make a soccer tackle. Those things usually include being smart, making contact with the ball and not playing recklessly.
Roma's Emerson didn't do any of the three on Tuesday. In the Champions League playoff round against Porto, the young Brazilian earned his team's second red card for this vicious, unthinkable tackle. Take a look.
That's criminal. He could have easily snapped the player's leg in half. He got the red card, yes, but he deserves a much harsher punishment.
That is not how you tackle.
