NCAA transfer portal 2023: Live updates, college football transfer tracker powered by 247Sports for spring
Live updates and analysis as the transfer portal reopens April 15 ahead of the 2023 college football season
The second NCAA transfer portal cycle for 2023 has officially opened. The portal initially cranked into gear with the FBS transfer window that lasted from Dec. 5, 2022, to Jan. 18, 2022, and now it reopens April 15-30. While a number of college football players announced their intentions to transfer prior to Friday, but some of the bigger decisions will come over the ensuing days.
Given that more than 3,000 FBS players entered the transfer portal during the 2021-22 cycle, and this season's edition was already wild to start -- considering NIL rights and one-time transfer exemptions -- there may be a significant number of players joining the portal for this cycle, too.
There are already numerous big-name players in the portal, and more should be filtering into it over the two weeks it is open. With spring practice for most college football teams either concluded or wrapping up in the coming weeks, the sooner that players enter the portal, the longer they'll have to decide their futures.
CBS Sports and 247Sports will be covering the transfer portal window from top to bottom with a live tracker, updated rankings and much more. Hit the key links below and keep scrolling for live updates.
