Live scores, highlights and updates from the Ohio vs. Georgia Southern football game
3rd Quarter Report
Ohio already has more points against Georgia Southern than they managed in total against Akron back in November. Ohio is way out in front with a 34-14 lead over Georgia Southern.
Ohio entered the contest having won three straight and they're just one quarter away from another. Will they make it four, or will Georgia Southern step up and spoil it? We'll know soon.
Preview
The Georgia Southern Eagles and the Ohio Bobcats will square off in the Myrtle Beach Bowl at Brooks Stadium 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday. Georgia Southern is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It looks like Georgia Southern got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. It's going to take some time for them to recover from the 55-27 bruising that App. State dished out back in November. Georgia Southern was down 41-17 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Georgia Southern's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of OJ Arnold, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown, and Khaleb Hood who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Ohio waltzed into their match back in November with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Akron by a score of 25-14.
Ohio's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sieh Bangura, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown. Kurtis Rourke also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Georgia Southern's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Ohio, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Looking ahead, Georgia Southern is the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by 3.5 points. For those looking to play the spread, watch out: Georgia Southern is playing as the underdog, but their 5-9 record against the spread as such isn't exactly encouraging.
