14m agoNarvaez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Houston, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Narvaez went 1-for-3 with two strikeouts in Monday's series opener and has hits in all three of his starts this season, but he'll head to the bench for Tuesday's contest. Connor Wong will do the catching for Boston righty Brayan Bello.
-
Caleb Durbin BOS 3B
Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Taking seat Tuesday
20m agoDurbin is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Durbin is hitless through the first four contests of the season and will get a game to reset Tuesday in Houston. Andruw Monasterio will step in at the hot corner and bat sixth for Boston.
-
Carson Kelly CHC C
Cubs' Carson Kelly: Absent from Cubs' lineup
20m agoKelly is not in the lineup for Tuesday's tilt against the Angels.
Kelly has been behind the dish for three of the Cubs' first five games this season but will yield catching duties to Miguel Amaya on Tuesday. Amaya is in the nine spot in Chicago's lineup.
-
Yoan Moncada LAA 3B
Angels' Yoan Moncada: Taking seat Tuesday
29m agoMoncada is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Cubs.
Moncada homered in Monday's loss to the Cubs, but he'll receive his first day off of the season Tuesday as the Angels look to even the series. Jeimer Candelario will cover third base and bat fifth for the Halos.
-
Jake Fraley TB RF
Rays' Jake Fraley: Returns to Rays' lineup
32m agoFraley (shoulder) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Tuesday's game versus the Brewers.
Fraley had to be scratched from Sunday's lineup due to right shoulder soreness and then didn't play Monday as the Brewers sent a left-hander to the mound. However, the left-handed-hitting Fraley feels well enough to give it a go Tuesday against right-hander Brandon Woodruff.
-
Jarren Duran BOS CF
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Not starting Tuesday
39m agoDuran is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Duran went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base Opening Day but is hitless across the past three games, though he has still worked four walks. Masatka Yoshida will receive a start at designated hitter and bat third versus Houston ace Hunter Brown.
-
Carlos Narvaez BOS C
Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Receiving Tuesday off
14m agoNarvaez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Houston, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Narvaez went 1-for-3 with two strikeouts in Monday's series opener and has hits in all three of his starts this season, but he'll head to the bench for Tuesday's contest. Connor Wong will do the catching for Boston righty Brayan Bello.

-
Jeferson Quero MIL C
Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Optioned back to Triple-A
1h agoThe Brewers optioned Quero to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.
He's being sent out to make room on the active roster for Luis Matos, who was acquired via trade. Quero received two plate appearances during his brief first stint in the majors, drawing a walk and grounding out.
-
Alejandro Kirk TOR C
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Not in Tuesday's lineup
1h agoKirk is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
Kirk has gone 1-for-12 with two walks and a solo homer through three games and will sit Tuesday for the second time in Toronto's past three contests. Tyler Heineman will take over behind the plate to do the catching for veteran righty Max Scherzer.
-
Ivan Herrera STL C
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Second start at catcher
2h agoHerrera will start at catcher and bat second in Tuesday's contest against the Mets.
It's the second start at catcher this season for Herrera, leaving him eight games shy of gaining eligibility at the position if your league uses a 10-game in-season threshold. Herrera is off to a slow start offensively this season, going 2-for-17 with a double and two RBI.
-
Tyler Stephenson CIN C
Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Out of Reds' lineup
2h agoStephenson is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Pirates.
It's a routine day off for Stephenson, who has now started three of the Reds' first five tilts. Jose Trevino will do the catching and bat eighth for Cincinnati on Tuesday.
-
Andrew Vaughn MIL 1B
Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Undergoes hamate bone surgery
2h agoVaughn underwent successful left hamate bone surgery Monday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Vaughn suffered the injury Opening Day and landed on the 10-day injured list Saturday after tests revealed a fracture. The Brewers hope he will be ready to return around mid-May. Jake Bauers and Gary Sanchez will handle first base for the Brewers while Vaughn is sidelined.
-
Spencer Steer CIN 1B
Reds' Spencer Steer: Getting first day off
2h agoSteer is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
Steer is just 1-for-13 at the plate to start the season, so he'll get a day to regroup. Will Benson is handling left field and batting sixth in Steer's stead.
-
Carlos Santana ARI 1B
Diamondbacks' Carlos Santana: Benefits from teammate's injury
9h agoSantana started at first base and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Monday's 9-6 win over the Tigers.
Santana was in the lineup against a right-hander after Pavin Smith (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday. The switch-hitting Santana, in theory, could start against pitchers of either hand, but it's uncertain how manager Torey Lovullo wants to handle first base going forward without Smith. Tim Tawa and Ildemaro Vargas are also options. Santana is 1-for-12 through four games played in the regular season.
-
Yandy Diaz TB 1B
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Stays hot in win over Milwaukee
17h agoDiaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 3-2 win over the Brewers.
Diaz led off the game with a solo blast off Kyle Harrison, and he later singled off Harrison in the second inning. The veteran designated hitter is swinging a hot bat to begin the season, as Diaz is 11-for-20 with one double, one home run, six RBI, four runs scored and a 1:1 BB:K through four contest.
-
C.J. Kayfus CLE 1B
Guardians' CJ Kayfus: Idle Monday
23h agoKayfus is not in the Guardians' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Monday.
Kayfus will take a seat for Monday's series opener while the Guardians roll with Steven Kwan, Daniel Schneemann and Angel Martinez in the outfield from left to right. Kayfus went 0-for-8 with two walks, one run and four strikeouts across three games against the Mariners this past week. He also struggled in his start in left field Sunday, which could limit the amount of at-bats he sees until he shores up that part of his game.
-
Rhys Hoskins CLE 1B
Guardians' Rhys Hoskins: Sitting again Monday
23h agoHoskins is not in the Guardians' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Monday.
Hoskins opened the regular season strongly, going 3-for-3 with one double and one run scored against the Mariners on Thursday before following that up with an 0-for-3 performance with two strikeouts Friday. He will not be in the Guardians' lineup for a third consecutive game, with Kyle Manzardo starting at first base while Chase DeLauter serves as the designated hitter for Monday's series opener.
-
Edouard Julien COL 2B
Rockies' Edouard Julien: Not in Tuesday's lineup
2h agoJulien is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Julien has gone 1-for-7 with a double and four strikeouts while starting three of Colorado's first four games of the season, and he'll hit the bench for Tuesday's contest. TJ Rumfleld will shift to designated hitter and Willi Castro to first base, opening up the keystone for Ryan Ritter.
-
Andres Gimenez TOR 2B
Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Pops first homer of 2026
6h agoGimenez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Rockies.
The infielder took Chase Dollander deep in the eighth inning for his first homer of the season. Gimenez has had a hot start to the year at the plate, going 7-for-14 in four games with a triple, a home run, a stolen base, five RBI and a 2:1 BB:K.
-
Davis Schneider TOR 2B
Blue Jays' Davis Schneider: Swats first homer of year
6h agoSchneider went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Rockies.
The 27-year-old entered the game in the eighth inning when Toronto emptied its bench in what ended up a 14-5 rout, and Schneider took advantage of the opportunity by depositing a Chase Dollander changeup into the left-field seats. It was Schneider's first hit of the season in four at-bats as he's mainly been limited to a short-side platoon role so far.
-
Daniel Schneemann CLE 2B
Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Logs key hit in win
8h agoSchneemann started in center field and went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Monday's 4-2 win over the Dodgers.
Schneemann's two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning increased Cleveland's lead to 4-0, and it proved to be key, as Los Angeles plated a pair of runs in the ninth. He's found himself in the starting lineup four times through the first five games -- twice in center field and once each at second and third base. Schneemann's versatility is his main fantasy value -- he batted just .206 over 379 regular-season at-bats in 2025 -- but he did have a fantasy-friendly 12 home runs and nine steals last year.
-
Luis Garcia WAS 2B
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Knocks in three
15h agoGarcia went 2-for-6 with a double, a run scored and three RBI during Monday's 13-2 win over the Phillies.
It was a great day for essentially everyone in the Nationals lineup with all but one starter recording an RBI in the game. Nobody had more than Garcia's three, though, as he knocked in a run on a fielder's choice in the third inning and drove in two with a single in the ninth. Those were the first RBI of the season for the 25-year-old, who had 66 in 139 games played last year. With Andres Chaparro optioned to Triple-A on Sunday, Garcia will likely get most of his playing time at first base.
-
Jose Altuve HOU 2B
Astros' Jose Altuve: Erupts with two homers
16h agoAltuve went 4-for-4 with two solo home runs, two singles, a walk and four runs scored in Monday's 8-1 win over the Red Sox.
Altuve delivered a massive performance from the top of the lineup, reaching base in all five plate appearances while launching his first two home runs of the season in back-to-back trips to the plate. Both long balls came off Johan Oviedo and both cleared the left field porch to extend Houston's lead. While Altuve's no longer in his prime, flashes like this are a reminder that the elite bat speed that defined the 35-year-old's career is still very much there, and if the power sticks, he could push past his 2025 home run total of 26.
-
Caleb Durbin BOS 3B
Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Taking seat Tuesday
20m agoDurbin is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Durbin is hitless through the first four contests of the season and will get a game to reset Tuesday in Houston. Andruw Monasterio will step in at the hot corner and bat sixth for Boston.
-
Yoan Moncada LAA 3B
Angels' Yoan Moncada: Taking seat Tuesday
29m agoMoncada is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Cubs.
Moncada homered in Monday's loss to the Cubs, but he'll receive his first day off of the season Tuesday as the Angels look to even the series. Jeimer Candelario will cover third base and bat fifth for the Halos.
-
Coby Mayo BAL 3B
Orioles' Coby Mayo: First day off Tuesday
1h agoMayo is not in the lineup for Tuesday's tilt against the Rangers.
Mayo started at third base in each of the Orioles' first four games of the season, but he will begin Tuesday's festivities on the bench. Blaze Alexander will start at the hot corner and as Baltimore tries to even the series.
-
Isaac Paredes HOU 3B
Astros' Isaac Paredes: Out of Tuesday's lineup
1h agoParedes is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.
Paredes started the first five games of the season across three different positions, and he'll hit the bench Tuesday after going 4-for-19 with two walks, three doubles, four RBI and three runs scored. Yordan Alvarez will serve as the designated hitter while Joey Loperfido receives a start in left field.
-
Josh Jung TEX 3B
Rangers' Josh Jung: Getting Tuesday off
1h agoJung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.
The third baseman will get a day to rest after going 0-for-17 with seven strikeouts to open the campaign. Ezequiel Duran will start at third base in place of Jung on Tuesday as Texas goes up against righty Zach Eflin.
-
Jared Triolo PIT 3B
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Grabbing seat Tuesday
1h agoTriolo is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Cincinnati.
Triolo batted leadoff the other time the Pirates faced a lefty, but he will begin this one on the bench. Nick Gonzales is at shortstop and Nick Yorke is handling third base for Pittsburgh against southpaw Brandon Williamson.
-
Oneil Cruz PIT SS
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Gets start against lefty
1h agoCruz will start in center field and bat eighth in Tuesday's game against the Reds.
It's the first start for Cruz against a left-handed pitcher since Aug. 2 of last season, as he was out of the lineup the final 12 times the Pirates faced a lefty last year and the first time they went up against a southpaw in 2026. The left-handed-hitting Cruz is a career .174/.249/.315 hitter against southpaws.
-
Addison Barger TOR SS
Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Hitting bench Tuesday
2h agoBarger is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.
The 26-year-old will head to the bench Tuesday for the second time in Toronto's first five games, with this absence coming against Colorado righty Ryan Feltner. It'll be a chance to reset for Barger, who has gone 0-for-12 with two walks, two RBI and five strikeouts. Nathan Lukes is instead starting in right field for Toronto.
-
Cole Young SEA SS
Mariners' Cole Young: Three hits Monday
3h agoYoung went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 2-1 win over the Yankees.
Young opened the scoring Monday with a two-out single off Ryan Weathers in the second inning, tallying his fourth RBI through five games this year. Young has carried over his strong spring training performance into the regular season -- he's now 6-for-18 (including 3-for-6 against left-handed pitching) with a home run as he's settled into an everyday role at second base.
-
Anthony Volpe NYY SS
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Taking live BP on Wednesday
5h agoYankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday on the "Talkin' Yanks" podcast by Jomboy Media that Volpe (shoulder) will take live batting practice Wednesday.
It's a significant step for Volpe, who is working his way back from October 2025 surgery to repair the labrum in his left shoulder. Boone added that, if all goes well, Volpe should be ready to begin a rehab assignment in two weeks. That should put Volpe on pace to return around May 1, which has been the approximate timeline. Jose Caballero has been handling shortstop for the Yankees while Volpe recuperates.
-
Brice Matthews HOU SS
Astros' Brice Matthews: Launches first homer
7h agoMatthews went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 8-1 win over the Red Sox.
Matthews extended Houston's lead to 4-0 in the fifth inning with a 434-foot blast off Ranger Suarez, his first homer of the year. The right-handed hitting Matthews has been platooning with Joey Loperfido to open the year, starting in three of the Astros' first five contests. He's now 2-for-9 with six strikeouts and no walks.
-
Colt Emerson SEA SS
Mariners' Colt Emerson: Inks $95 million contract extension
7h agoThe Mariners signed Emerson to an eight-year, $95 million contract extension Tuesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
The deal includes a club option for a ninth year and can top $130 million if all incentives are reached. It's a record contract for a player yet to reach the majors. Emerson came close to winning a roster spot with the Mariners in spring training and now, with a new long-term contract, is a good bet to be promoted to the big club sooner rather than later, though he will remain at Triple-A Tacoma for now, per Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times. J.P. Crawford (shoulder) is on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder injury that's nagged at him since the start of spring training and faces an uncertain timetable. Leo Rivas has been filling in at shortstop for Seattle, but the club could eventually look to Emerson to fill that void. Emerson, 20, slashed .285/.383/.458 with 16 homers and 14 steals over three levels in the minors in 2025 and is 5-for-14 with a home run in his first three games at Tacoma in 2026.
-
Jake Fraley TB RF
-
Henry Davis PIT RF
Pirates' Henry Davis: Not starting Tuesday's game
1h agoDavis is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Reds.
Davis has started all three games versus right-handers but will yield to Joey Bart at catcher for the second time in two tilts against lefties. The former No. 1 overall pick is 2-for-11 with a 2:3 BB:K in the early going this season for Pittsburgh.
-
Jacob Young WAS CF
Nationals' Jacob Young: Sitting again Tuesday
2h agoYoung is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.
It's the second straight game on the bench for Young, who started the first three games of the season and went 2-for-11 with a double and a homer. Joey Wiemer, who has opened the campaign on fire at the plate, will instead start in center field while Daylen Lile and James Wood man left and right field, respectively.
-
Jordan Beck COL OF
Rockies' Jordan Beck: Grabbing seat Tuesday
3h agoBeck is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Toronto.
It's the second day off this season already for Beck, who is 2-for-11 with a 2:2 BB:K in the first three contests of the season. Troy Johnston will grab a start in right field Tuesday in Beck's place.
-
Everson Pereira CHW LF
White Sox's Everson Pereira: Day off Tuesday
3h agoPereira is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Miami.
Pereira started each of the first four games of the season in right field, but he will begin Tuesday's contest on the bench. Tristan Perez will cover right field and hit seventh for the White Sox on Tuesday.
-
Matt Pushard STL SP
Cardinals' Matt Pushard: Goes on IL with knee tendinitis
2h agoThe Cardinals placed Pushard on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with right knee patellar tendinitis.
Pushard got knocked around in his major-league debut over the weekend, allowing three runs in an inning of work against the Rays, and now the reliever will miss at least the next two weeks of action. The Rule 5 pick was replaced on the roster and in the bullpen by Gordon Graceffo.
-
Quinn Priester MIL SP
Brewers' Quinn Priester: Nearing rehab assignment
3h agoPriester (wrist) is scheduled to throw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday before heading to the Brewers' spring facility in Arizona to continue building up his throwing program, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
The right-hander opened the campaign on the injured list due to symptoms related to thoracic outlet syndrome manifesting in his wrist, which initially developed late last season. Assuming he avoids any setbacks, Priester should soon progress to facing live hitters and is on track to begin a rehab assignment in early April. The 25-year-old will then likely require a handful of starts in the minors before his making his season debut in the majors after sitting out the entirety of spring training.
-
Keaton Winn SF SP
Giants' Keaton Winn: Fans three in hold
3h agoWinn earned a hold and struck out three in a scoreless inning during Monday's 3-2 win over the Padres.
Winn worked the eighth inning in a setup role and struck out the side while throwing nine of his 13 pitches for strikes. The right-hander relied heavily on his splitter, throwing it 10 times and generating five whiffs. The 28-year-old has yet to allow a run through three outings, giving up one walk while striking out six in three innings.
-
Ryan Sloan SEA SP
Mariners' Ryan Sloan: Opening age-20 season at Double-A
5h agoSloan is opening the season with Double-A Arkansas, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Few prospects generated more rave reviews this spring than Sloan, whose already plus fastball jumped a couple ticks and now sits around 97 mph. Sloan, who could be the game's top pitching prospect in a couple months, only made three starts at High-A last year, so this is a big vote of confidence. Per the report, the initial plan was to assign Sloan to High-A Everett, but the calculus changed after he made such a strong impression this spring. The less volatile weather conditions in Arkansas compared to the Pacific Northwest in April also factored into the decision. What makes the assignment even more notable is that the Mariners have a track record of jumping their best pitching prospects from Double-A to the majors, bypassing the Pacific Coast League. Kade Anderson, the Mariners' other premium pitching prospect, is also opening the year at Double-A.
-
Kade Anderson SEA SP
Mariners' Kade Anderson: Gets aggressive assignment
5h agoAnderson is opening the season with Double-A Arkansas, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Most of the top college arms get assigned to High-A for their first full season, so while this assignment may not be a big surprise, it is notable. Per the report, the initial plan was to assign Anderson to High-A Everett, but the calculus changed after Anderson made such a strong impression this spring. The less volatile weather conditions in Arkansas compared to the Pacific Northwest in April also factored into the decision. What makes the assignment even more notable is that the Mariners have a track record of jumping their best pitching prospects from Double-A to the majors, bypassing the Pacific Coast League. Ryan Sloan, the Mariners other premium pitching prospect, is also opening the year at Double-A.
-
Louie Varland TOR SP
Blue Jays' Louis Varland: Stuck with loss Monday
6h agoVarland (0-1) took the loss Monday as the Blue Jays fell 14-5 to the Rockies, allowing an unearned run on two hits over 1.1 innings of relief. He struck out three without walking a batter.
The right-hander pitched well in a tough spot, as Varland was called in when Cody Ponce (knee) was removed from the game in the third inning, but the unearned run he gave up in the fourth wound up being the one that put Colorado in the lead for good. Varland's seen a heavy workload early, appearing in three of the Jays' first four games and posted a 0.00 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 5:2 K:BB over 3.1 innings with a hold.
-
Cody Ponce TOR RP
Blue Jays' Cody Ponce: Set to miss extended time
40m agoPonce (knee) has been diagnosed with a sprained right ACL and is expected to miss "significant time," Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
The Blue Jays remain optimistic that Ponce can pitch again this season, but manager John Schneider said doctors will continue to review Ponce's MRI and determine if surgery is needed. It's a brutal blow for Ponce, who inked a three-year, $30 million deal with Toronto this past offseason after spending three seasons overseas. Ponce's injury also further tests the pitching depth of the Blue Jays, who are already dealing with injuries to Jose Berrios (elbow), Shane Bieber (elbow) and Trey Yesavage (shoulder) in the rotation. Ponce is likely to be shut down for quite some time.
-
Rob Zastryzny MIL RP
Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Kicking off rehab assignment
3h agoZastryzny (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.
Zastryzny has been shelved since mid-March due to a left shoulder strain, but he's been cleared to test things out in a game setting. The southpaw reliever is eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list April 6, and he has a good shot to be ready to go on that date.
-
Matt Brash SEA RP
Mariners' Matt Brash: Earns win Monday
3h agoBrash (1-0) earned the win Monday over the Yankees, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless inning.
Brash kept the Yankees off the board in the top of the ninth inning, working around a Giancarlo Stanton one-out double, before the Mariners delivered a walk-off win in the bottom half of the frame. Brash has held opponents scoreless through his first two appearances (two innings) this season, allowing two hits and no walks. The right-hander is a key high-leverage option for Seattle ahead of closer Andres Munoz. Brash posted a 2.47 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and 58:18 K:BB in 47.1 regular-season innings last year. He totaled four saves and 21 holds.
-
Cole Henry WAS RP
Nationals' Cole Henry: Not in high-leverage mix
5h agoHenry gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning during Monday's win over the Phillies. He struck out one.
The right-hander entered the game with the Nationals cruising to a 13-2 rout. Henry's made two appearances so far, and both came in blowouts -- he also delivered a scoreless inning in Saturday's 10-2 loss to the Cubs. Henry was viewed as potentially part of the closing picture coming into the season alongside Clayton Beeter, but his early usage suggests he's a long way from a high-leverage role.
-
Robert Suarez ATL RP
Braves' Robert Suarez: Nabs first hold with Atlanta
6h agoSuarez gave up a hit in a scoreless eighth inning Monday to record his first hold of the season in a win over the A's.
The veteran righty notched 76 saves over the prior two seasons for the Padres, but Suarez is beginning 2026 in a setup role for Atlanta after signing a three-year, $45 million deal in December. He's looked good so far for his new club, dealing two scoreless innings with a 1:0 K:BB, but he'll need Raisel Iglesias to stumble as closer before he'll get consistent ninth-inning work for Atlanta.
-
Raisel Iglesias ATL RP
Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Clean inning in 2026 debut
6h agoIglesias worked a scoreless ninth inning in Monday's 4-0 win over the A's. He didn't record a walk or a strikeout
Atlanta hasn't produce a save situation yet for Iglesias, but he looked good in his first action of 2026, tossing seven of eight pitches for strikes while reaching 94.5 mph with his fastball, and the only A's hitter to reach base against him did so thanks to a Mauricio Dubon error, which quickly got erased by a double play. Iglesias has averaged 32 saves for Atlanta over the last three seasons and should have plenty of job security as closer, but if he does falter, Robert Suarez stands as a ready replacement in the ninth.
-
Yordan Alvarez HOU DH
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Launches second homer of season
15h agoAlvarez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 8-1 win over the Red Sox
Alvarez stayed hot Monday, extending Houston's lead with a two-run shot in the third inning, marking his second home run of the season. The star slugger has been pitched around early, drawing five walks through his first five games, but he continues to make pitchers pay when he gets something to hit. The 28-year-old boasts a 1.222 OPS across 24 plate appearances and so far, has reinforced his status as one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball.
-
Yordan Alvarez HOU DH
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Hot start to campaign
2d agoAlvarez went 1-for-2 with three walks, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Angels.
Alvarez is off to a nice start this season, going 4-for-13 with a home run and five walks through his first four games. Health will be key for the slugger in 2026, and he is slated to alternate between DH and left field. Alvarez was limited to 48 games last year, when he batted .273 with just six homers, 27 RBI and a .797 OPS across 199 plate appearances.
-
Andrew McCutchen TEX DH
Rangers' Andrew McCutchen: Homers in Rangers win
2d agoMcCutchen went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, a double and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Phillies.
Making his second start this season, McCutchen extended Texas' lead to 5-0 with a three-run blast off left Jesus Luzardo, his first home run this season. The 39-year-old McCutchen is expected to fill the short side of a platoon with Joc Pederson at DH after making the team out of spring training as a non-roster invitee. Through three games, McCutchen is 4-for-9 with four RBI.
-
Marcell Ozuna PIT DH
Pirates' Marcell Ozuna: Receiving breather Sunday
2d agoOzuna is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets.
The veteran slugger will receive the afternoon off after he started the Pirates' first two games of the season and went 1-for-9 with a walk. With Ozuna on the bench, Bryan Reynolds will cede left field to Jake Mangum and shift to designated hitter.
-

Rangers' Joc Pederson: In lineup against righty
2d agoPederson served as the designated hitter and went 0-for-1 with a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-inning win over Philadelphia.
Pederson, who was held out of the first game of the series with left-hander Cristopher Sanchez on the mound, got the start against righty Aaron Nola. As soon as lefty reliever Tanner Banks entered the contest, Texas manager Skip Schumaker sent Andrew McCutchen out to pinch hit for Pederson. It looks like DH will be strict platoon between the two.

Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Swats first homer Friday
3d agoStanton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Friday in a 3-0 win over San Francisco.
Stanton provided the final run of the low-scoring affair with a 414-foot solo shot in the sixth inning. The slugger had a great spring, belting four homers in just 29 plate appearances, and he's gone 4-for-8 with a pair of RBI in his first two contests of the campaign. Stanton hasn't reached the 30-homer mark in a regular season since 2022, but that's largely due to a plethora of injuries that have cost him over 200 games across the past three years.
