Wheeler signed a $575,000 deal with the Hanwha Eagles of the KBO League on Wednesday, Sung Min Kim of Sporting News reports.
Wheeler only appeared in two big-league games with the Twins this past season, and combined to play in 39 minor-league contests across three organizations. The 27-year-old will take his talents to Korea for the upcoming season, but could make a return to the majors at some point in the future, although he likely won't register on any fantasy radars.

Orioles' Jason Wheeler: Traded to Orioles
Wheeler was traded to the Orioles on Sunday in exchange for international signing bonus pool money, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
The practice of dealing bonus pool money for low-end talent is certainly flawed, but the Orioles don't have a significant scouting presence in Latin America, so at least they are getting something for that money. Wheeler had just been outrighted off the Dodgers' 40-man roster, and he will have a much better chance to earn an opportunity in the big leagues, whether as a starter or reliever, now that he is with Baltimore. He has posted a 5.37 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 40:12 K:BB in 53.2 innings spread across minor-league stops in the upper levels of the Dodgers and Twins systems this season.

Wheeler cleared waivers Thursday and was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The 26-year-old returns to Oklahoma City after a brief stint with the big-league club in which he pitched three innings and allowed five runs (three earned) with four walks and zero strikeouts. Wheeler has also struggled in Triple-A this season with a 5.47 ERA and 1.42 WHIP over 52.2 innings.

The Dodgers claimed outfielder Peter O'Brien off waivers Sunday and subsequently designated Wheeler for assignment in order to open up a 40-man roster spot. Since being traded to the Dodgers from the Twins two weeks ago, Wheeler has posted a 10.38 ERA over 8.2 innings with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Wheeler was promoted to Triple-A Rochester, the Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Wheeler had a strong start to the season at Double-A with a 1.88 ERA and 22:3 K:BB ratio in 24 innings. At age 25 the former eighth-round draft pick was dropped from the 40-man roster last year, but he could still develop into a late bloomer and perhaps make the majors as a lefty-specialist in the bullpen. He struggled in his first extended time at Triple-A last year with a 6.58 ERA and ugly 40:24 K:BB ratio in 78 innings.
