Hidalgo (shoulder) covered four innings in his season debut for High-A Cedar Rapids on Saturday, allowing two earned runs on three hits and one walk while striking out six.
Hidalgo didn't make any appearances at any level of the minors in 2024 while he battled a shoulder injury, but he looks to be fully healthy to begin the 2025 season.

Hidalgo was placed on the 60-day injured list at Low-A Cedar Rapids with a right shoulder impingement, TwinsDaily.com reports.
Hidalgo hasn't pitched yet this season due to the injury. After coming over in the Gio Urshela trade in 2022, Hidalgo has struggled in the minors with a 5.28 ERA and ugly 57:53 K:BB in 58 innings at High-A last season.

Twins' Alejandro Hidalgo: Sent to Minnesota
Rotowire
The Angels traded Hidalgo to the Twins on Friday in exchange for Gio Urshela.
Hidalgo, who will still be 19 years old when next season begins, pitched to a 4.62 ERA and 58:19 K:BB over 10 starts (39 innings) for Single-A Inland Empire last season. Minnesota will take a chance on the strikeout upside and avoid a tough arbitration decision with Urshela. Look for Hidalgo to begin next year back at the lowest level of full-season ball.
