Wolf bypassed the Triple-A level to make his MLB debut Saturday, earning the win in the Padres' 14-3 victory over the Tigers while allowing three earned runs on six hits and one walk over five innings. Due to an off day this upcoming Thursday, the Padres look content to get by with a four-man rotation for the upcoming week, so Wolf will be the odd man out and will head back to the minors. Wolf, a fourth-round pick in the 2021 Draft, doesn't come with a ton of prospect pedigree, but he does come with strong numbers at the Double-A level this season. In 17 starts, he owns a 3.39 ERA, striking out 31.3 percent of opposing batters while walking just 6.0 percent. The 6-foot-7 sidearmer will skip Triple-A altogether, though it remains to be seen if his funk and deception will continue to outweigh the fact that his fastball sits below 90 mph.

It had already been reported that Wolf was being promoted, but now he's officially locked in as the Padres' starter Saturday. The 24-year-old left-hander has posted a strong 3.39 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 104:20 K:BB in 85 innings (17 starts) this season with Double-A San Antonio and is probably worth an immediate look in fantasy against a Detroit team that ranks 28th in team OPS at .667.
