Isaiah Thomas is not a great defender. No matter how hard he tries, he's always going to be 5-foot-9, which puts him at a major disadvantage on the defensive end. During the regular season, the Celtics' defensive rating with Thomas on the court was 108.6, and when he was off the court, it dropped to 99.7.

While we haven't seen that -- in fact it's been the complete opposite -- during the first five games of this series, the fact is that Thomas is just not great on the defensive end. Not that the Celtics expect him to be. He's there to get buckets, and he does it quite well.

Thomas did, however, have a few nice possessions during Game 5 in which he was able to force Jimmy Butler into tough shots, which he missed.

After the game, Thomas' teammate, Avery Bradley, was asked about those two possessions, which began a fantastic exchange.

First, Thomas joked, a la Tony Allen, that he was "First-Team All Defense." Bradley than started to praise Thomas, saying he was underrated, but Thomas quickly put a stop to that, saying "don't hype me, don't hype me" as he began to laugh.

"Don't hype me" isn't quite on the "take that for data" level, but it's still pretty great, and this was one of the best press conference moments of the postseason so far.
