Former Philadelphia Eagles first-round draft pick Danny Watkins will sign with Miami Dolphins, according to a league source.

The Eagles took Watkins with the 23rd overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft but, naturally left-sided, did not fit in as a right guard and fell out of favor with new coach Chip Kelly, who controls Philadelphia's roster.

Watkins cleared waivers -- he is still due $1.1 million in guaranteed money from the Eagles in 30 days -- but then drew immediate free agent interest. He is visiting the Dolphins Monday.

Other teams wanted to schedule visits, but Watkins is working out a deal with the Dolphins and a contract will be completed shortly, the source said.
