NFL Week 2 injuries, inactives, live updates: Cowboys' Brandin Cooks out; Cam Akers a healthy scratch for Rams

One week into the NFL season has already taken its toll on the players. As the injury list grows heading into Week 2, so does the prominent names on the inactive list. Another full NFL Sunday is set to begin, with plenty of big names awaiting their official game status. 

The Green Bay Packers were hit hard by injuries this week, as three key players on offense are inactive. Wide receiver Christian Watson, running back Aaron Jones and offensive tackle David Bakhtiari are all out vs. the Falcons.

The Chargers will be without Austin Ekeler, who was ruled out on Saturday with an ankle injury, while Joey Bosa is expected to play despite a hamstring injury. Ravens tight end Mark Andrews (ankle) listed as questionable, will play against the Bengals.

Travis Kelce (knee) will play for the Chiefs, while Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (concussion) will not play this week. Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) is questionable, but not expected to play against the Jets.

Dallas will be without wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who did not practice this week due to a knee injury. Safety Donovan Wilson and guard Tyler Smith are other notable inactives. Here are the rest of the players sidelined on Sunday:

While CJ Stroud will play, he loses yet another offensive lineman with Laremy Tunsil out with a knee injury. He is the fourth regular offensive starter the Texans won't have today.

Titans first-round pick inactive

Titans O-lineman and first-round pick Peter Skoronski is inactive after needing an appendectomy during the week. Xavier Newman, who has played in one career regular season game, is in line to replace Skoronski in the starting lineup.

Hamlin out for Bills 

Damar Hamlin is inactive for a second straight week and has not played since Buffalo's Week 17 game against Cincinnati last December. O-lineman Mitch Morse (finger) was the only Bills player who was on this week's practice report.

Meyers out for Vegas

Wideout Jakobi Meyers (concussion) will not be in uniform today for the Raiders. Also out for Vegas is Chandler Jones, who continues be inactive for personal reasons. Meyers' absence will likely lead to more targets for DeAndre Carter, who had just one catch for five yards last week.

Kelce, Jones to make season debuts for KC 

As expected, Travis Kelce (knee) and Chris Jones will play after missing the Chiefs' season-opening loss to Detroit. Kelce's presence will surely be a big boost for Patrick Mahomes after he was bedeviled by his receiving corps against the Lions.

Falcons

Jeff Okudah and Cordarrelle Patterson were a question mark heading into Sunday, but they will have to wait another week to make their 2023 debut, as they are both inactive against the Packers.

Packers

The Packers will be without some key pieces to their offense in their game against the Falcons. Wide receiver Christian Watson, running back Aaron Jones and tackle David Bakhtiari are all out for Sunday's matchup. Jones and Bakhtiari did not practice all week and Watson did not practice until Friday, when he was a limited participant.

Bengals rookie RB to make regular season debut 

With running back Chris Evans injured and inactive, Bengals rookie RB Chase Brown will make his NFL debut today. Brown ran for 1,643 yards and 10 scores during his final game at Illinois. 

In other Bengals injury news, backup OT Jackson Carmen is out today, so D'Ante Smith is in line to play if Orlando Browns or Jonah Williams sustains an injury.

Buccaneers

After not practicing all week, Carlton Davis III is officially out against the Bears. Quarterback Baker Mayfield landed on the injury report with a right shoulder injury, but he was able to practice as a full participant all week.

Bosa in, Ekeler out 

Chargers pass rusher Joey Bosa will play today after missing time this past week with a hamstring injury. Los Angles will be without Austin Ekeler, which means a bigger workload today for Joshua Kelly.

Andrews active 

As Kevin noted, Mark Andrews will suit up for Baltimore but the Ravens will still be without two of their starting offensive linemen and two of their starting defensive backs. The Ravens are also without J.K. Dobbins, so Gus Edwards and Justice Hill will handle Baltimore's rushing duties along with Lamar Jackson.

As expected, Colt running back Zack Moss is back in the lineup today after missing Week 1 with a shoulder injury. Moss is the Colts' starter with Jonathan Taylor out at least the next three games on the team's PUP list.
