The Final Four is set after UConn and Louisville picked up Regional Final wins on Monday night. No. 1 overall seed South Carolina and defending champion Stanford -- also a No. 1 seed --  earned their tickets the night before.

History was made when No. 2 seed UConn and No. 1 NC State faced each other in the first game of the day. The Huskies entered the game as a four-point favorite, but the Wolfpack were tough opponents and 40 minutes were not enough to get a winner.

No. 3 seed Michigan was competing in its first ever Elite Eight round. No. 1 Louisville had control for most of the night, but the Wolverines were relentless and stayed in the game.

The Final Four will take place in Minneapolis from on April 1st. The teams that advance will meet up in the championship game on April 3.

  • No. 2 UConn is advancing to the Final Four round for the 14th consecutive time after a double overtime battle against No. 1 seed NC State. Paige Bueckers had a slow start with only four points in the first four quarters, but she went on to finish the game with 27 points, 15 of them in the two overtime periods. NC State leading scorer Elissa Cunane also did not have a strong start offensively, but she was the one who hit the shot that tied the game with one minute remaining in the fourth quarter. The Wolfpack was once again down in the last few seconds of the first overtime period, but junior forward Jakia Brown-Turner hit a three-pointer with one second on the clock.
  • No. 1 seed Louisville is advancing to the Final Four for the fourth time in school history after a 62-50 win over No. 3 seed Michigan. Naz Hillmon's double double of 18 points and 11 rebounds wasn't enough for the Wolverines. Sophomore guard Hailey Van Lith led the Cardinals offense with her fourth straight 20-point game. Louisville is set to take on the No. 1 overall seed South Carolina Gamecocks.

Final (2OT): UConn 91, NC State 87

No. 2 seed UConn survived double overtime against a persistent No. 1 seed NC State. This was the first time in NCAA Tournament history that two extra periods were needed in the Elite Eight round. UConn star Paige Bueckers only had four points in the first half, but she ended the night with a game-high 27 points, 15 of those coming in overtime. The Wolfpack had climbed back from a 10-point deficit to send the game into the first overtime period. It was a tough result for the Wolfpack, a team that had made it to its first Elite Eight since 1998. The Huskies are moving on to their 14th consecutive Final Four.
