Join us for an NCAA Tournament Saturday with trips to the Final Four on the line
What a showing by the West.
After Gonzaga punched its ticket to the Final Four with a 83-59 victory vs. Xavier on Saturday, the Bulldogs became the first team from the West Coast to make it to the Final Four since 2008.
By the end of the day, another team from the Pacific time zone joined them.
No. 3 seed Oregon upset No. 1 seed Kansas 74-60 in the Midwest Regional final to give the Final Four two teams from either the Pacific or Mountain time zones for just the sixth time in NCAA Tournament history and the first time since 1998 when Utah and Stanford made it to the final weekend of the Big Dance.
The Zags and the Ducks will find out who they will play Saturday in Phoenix when the other half of the Elite Eight gets underway.
In the game of the day, No. 1 seed North Carolina and No. 2 seed Kentucky will meet at 5:05 p.m. on CBS in the South Regional title game for the right to face Oregon next week.
The winner of No. 4 Florida and No. 7 South Carolina in the East Regional final at 2:20 p.m. on CBS will play Gonzaga, the No. 1 seed in the West.
