The injury woes continue to plague the Michigan State Spartans, who have now suffered their biggest loss to date with the news that star freshman Miles Bridges is expected to miss a few weeks with an ankle injury. X-rays were taken, and came back negative.

"He's gonna be out a couple weeks it looks like," Izzo said to reporters following MSU's practice Thursday. "Kind of don't know exactly what it is yet, but it's been sore and it's kind of on the top, so it's a position where we need to just take care of it. He's going to rest it for at least a couple weeks. That's why he's on crutches. And then it will be a day-to-day evaluation."

Bridges has been the go-to guy for the Spartans this year. He has averaged 16.6 points and eight rebounds per game, shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from 3. According to Izzo, it is unscertain as to when Bridges suffered the injury.

The loss of Bridges is a big blow as the Spartans are already without Gavin Schilling and Ben Carter, the latter of which may not be back at all this season.

"We're just gonna take those injuries one at a time," Izzo told the Detroit Free Press. "I mean, I don't know when anybody will be back right now. I'm definitely not worried about Miles' as much as I am the other two as far as length of time. But two or three right now is a lot of time because you want to get better at this time. So we'll see if Bridges is a quick healer or if he's not a quick healer."
