The injury bug has bitten once again in Tucson, and this one really stings. This time it's Parker Jackson-Cartwright, who sustained a high ankle sprain Wednesday against Texas Southern and will miss a "considerable amount of time," according to Arizona head coach Sean Miller.

The Cats have suffered a case of bad luck with injuries and missing players this season. A major projected contributor, Ray Smith, suffered a torn ACL and retired from hoops earlier this season. And Allonzo Trier, who has not played this season, might not return at all.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright was one of Arizona's most important players. His absence will leave a void; Arizona's backcourt is now frighteningly shallow. He has played 33 minutes per contest this season, and stepped up when they needed him most; averaging 9 points and 6 assists entering this game before getting hurt.

Here's the play where he apparently suffered the injury.

At this point, Sean Miller has to be seriously concerned about his backcourt depth ... if he weren't already. Kadeem Allen, a two-way guard, will likely take over a larger role in ball-handling duties. But replacing a true point guard is no small task, and it's hard to tell just how far this team can go with the injury bug continuing to bite its most important players.
