WATCH: Kentucky's Malik Monk jumps passing lane, goes coast-to-coast for slam
This is becoming an every game routine for the standout freshman
In case Kentucky freshman Malik Monk bolts for the NBA after one season in Lexington, he's making sure the highlight tape from his college years isn't quickly forgotten.
Each time Monk steps on the floor, he's producing absolutely filthy highlights, be it ridiculous passes, 47-point outbursts against top teams or nasty dunks. Tuesday night, it was the latter.
This play, in a nutshell, is why NBA teams are likely champing at the bit for the high-flying wing. Monk jumped the passing lane on defense, made an elusive cut driving down the lane and hammered the dunk on the other end as he bobbed and weaved through traffic. All of those traits should translate well to the NBA.
Monk finished with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting, as Kentucky held off a late Vanderbilt surge to keep its perfect SEC record intact with an 87-81 road win. Kentucky is now 14-2 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.
