Xavier coach Chris Mack has plenty of reason to sing along to regrettable music these days. The biggest Kid Rock fan in Ohio, Mack's also got a top-five team heading into the preseason. Xavier basketball has never had a year with more optimism and expectation than the one ahead.

This, in part, must be why he decided to take the boat out on the lake and belt out some tunes. Here's Mack and his daughter, Hailee, a fifth-grader who, thankfully, hasn't been introduced to the knee-buckling depression of listening to Nebraska.

Gotta say, the best part about the video is Hailee's performance. Second-best part is Mack's Seinfeld shirt. I gotta get me one of those.

I did text Mack to get his top five Springsteen songs. They are, in no order, "Born in the he USA," "I'm on Fire," "Dancing in the Dark," "Glory Days" and "Hungry Heart."

Gotta mix something from Born to Run or Darkness on the Edge of Town in there, Chris.

Mack's done this kind of thing before, and we encourage him and the family to keep it up. A few years ago, Mack, his wife and daughter acted out a car skit to "Call Me Maybe." Remember when people lip-syncing in cars and putting the videos on the Internet was a craze for like six months?

Xavier's season begins on Nov. 11, when it hosts Lehigh. I've got the X men slotted at 24 wins in the regular season for 2016-17.
