Lamar Jackson hurdles defender for TD in early candidate for play of the year
The dynamic Louisville quarterback leaped over a Syracuse defender for a nine-yard touchdown run
Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson is making an early statement for the best player in college football.
Whether he wins the Heisman Trophy is something only time will tell, but he does have a case for the early-season play of the year with this hurdle over a Syracuse defender as part of a 9-yard touchdown run in the second quarter of Friday night's game...

Jackson and the Cardinals got off to a hot start, compiling three touchdowns on just their first five plays from scrimmage. Jackson alone totaled 610 yards of offense in a 62-28 rout. That's a single-game record for Louisville and the ACC.
Yes, Jackson, by himself, is more potent on offense than a lot of teams. That's something to keep in mind when the Cardinals play Florida State in Week 3.
