Lane Kiffin trolls Tennessee, shows he's still the Twitter king of coaches
Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin is also retweeting recruits after the NCAA rule change
The NCAA's new rule for coaches and social media, effective Aug. 1, allows a coach to retweet or like a social media post by a prospective student-athlete. Coaches are still prohibited from mentioning a recruit by name, but there's no penalty for sharing that player's social media posts on their own feed.
At Midnight ET, Miami's Mark Richt, Western Michigan's P.J. Fleck and others got the ball rolling with a handful of retweets from Class of 2017 prospects. The rest of the country seemed to follow suit on Monday morning and before you knew it, that "College Football Coaches" Twitter list was filled with all the emojis and enthusiasm you'd expect from a high schooler.
Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin became a popular follow over the last two years. No longer speaking to the media on a regular basis has kept Kiffin away from microphones but not away from the "Send" button. He'll use an unexpected BitMoji character to celebrate big news, share a photo from the recruiting trail and even use someone else's link to do a little negative recruiting of his own.
Tennessee loaded with top-level recruits -- but they're leaving the state https://t.co/gSTNhKtftJ

Of course, that taunting tweet was preceded by a Ghostbusters BitMoji and followed by more retweeting recruits. Kiffin's a great follow, but the recruiting retweets are going to make it more challenging to find the gems on his timeline.

Not everyone is in on the fun, though.
Looking forward to the Lane Kiffin twitter journalism to come.
