The SEC got off to a rough start to the bowl season this year, losing three of its first four games, but maybe Georgia helped turn the tide on Friday.

The Bulldogs, led by running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, beat TCU 31-23 in the Liberty Bowl to give the SEC its first bowl win over a Power Five opponent this season. While the Georgia offense struggled to move the ball effectively for most of the game, it sprinkled in a few big plays here and there, and when they were needed most, Chubb and Michel came through.

Chubb rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. His 27-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter proved to be the deciding score in the game.

Michel helped out in both the running and passing games. He finished with 87 yards and a touchdown rushing. He also caught two passes, including a 33-yard touchdown grab late in the second quarter to cut TCU's lead at the time to 16-14.

For Georgia, the Liberty Bowl win is a nice end to a season that has to be considered an overall disappointment, as the Bulldogs entered the 2016 season as one of the favorite in the SEC East, but finish 8-5.

As for the Horned Frogs, the loss drops them to 6-7 on the season, meaning the 2016 season will be the third losing season in Gary Patterson's 16 seasons in Fort Worth.
