LOOK: Texas' new football lockers feature 43-inch monitors instead of nameplates
As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas
Here's some fresh meat for opposers of the "athletic departments don't make enough money to give the players more than they already do" narrative. Texas has some new lockers.
Now, getting new lockers isn't anything outrageous in itself, but how about when each of those lockers comes with a 43-inch television monitor rather than just a standard nameplate?

Let's do some quick math here.
According to Bruce Feldman, these new lockers set Texas back $10,500 apiece. Not total. Each.
At #Texas UT's new lockers are pretty hi-tech. Each has a 43-inch flat screen & locker doors glow. Cost: $10,500 per. pic.twitter.com/P4je7D4LQq

So, if we assume Texas needs at least 85 of these lockers, as it has 85 scholarship players, the total cost of the new lockers comes to $892,500.
Do with this information as you please.
