Florida extended the nation's longest active winning streak over a single opponent to 30 on Saturday, defeating Kentucky 45-7 in The Swamp on Saturday afternoon.

The Gators' offense, which struggled to find its footing in the opener against UMass, opened it up against a porous Wildcats' defense. The only Kentucky points came late in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats avoided getting blanked.

Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio, coming off of a shaky start to his Florida career, completed 19-of-32 passes for 320 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Star receiver Antonio Callaway had a big game for the Gators with five catches for a career-high 129 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, freshman Lamical Perine led the way with 17 carries for 105 yards, but the Gators as a whole had 50 carries for 244 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Gators' defense locked down the Kentucky passing game. The Wildcats threw as many interceptions as completions (three) on the game, as the Florida pass defense was suffocating. Marcus Maye, Quincy Wilson and Jalen Tabor all made their presence felt with interceptions on Saturday afternoon.

The loss is just the latest in a long history of misery for Kentucky against Florida. For the Gators, they'll hope this is a stepping stone to bigger and better things offensively and something that can build confidence for Del Rio and the passing game as they look to compete in the SEC East.
