Former Washington receiver John Ross broke an NFL combine record in March when he ran a 4.22 in the 40-yard dash. Turns out, Tennessee track and field star Christian Coleman has something to say about that.

While running at Tennessee's football facility, Coleman reportedly clocked 4.12 seconds in the 40-yard dash -- a full tenth of a second faster than Ross' official time. You can view the video of Coleman's attempt below...

Now, that isn't to say players haven't run under 4.20 before. Bo Jackson reportedly ran a 4.13 at the Superdome in 1986 and Jakeem Grant of Texas Tech reportedly ran a 4.10 at his pro day last year.

Coleman has a decorated track career in Knoxville, having won the 60- and 200-meter events in the NCAA Indoor National Championships. However, he also played some football at Our Lady of Mercy High School in Georgia as a defensive back and wide receiver. Of course, it takes more than pure speed to play football at a high level, but with that type of speed, it certainly can't hurt to put Coleman in some pads on Saturdays, right?
