Frank Martin to South Carolina a done deal

Frank Martin has signed a six-year deal, $12 million with South Carolina .

Martin, who has led Kansas State to the NCAA tournament in four of his five seasons since taking over for Bob Huggins, has agreed to replace Darrin Horn. Martin confirmed he accepted the job to CBSSports.com on Monday night.

Martin called Kansas State athletic director John Currie, who made minimal effort to retain Martin, at 6:30 p.m. ET to resign.

Martin, 45, is a Miami native who came with Bob Huggins to Kansas State from Cincinnati -- and then got the job when Huggins left for West Virginia.

The Wildcats are 117-54 since he took over in 2007 -- and reached the third round of the NCAA tournament each of the past two seasons.

However, Martin's relationship with Currie was contentious. South Carolina was 10-21 this past season and 2-14 in SEC play.
