Source: Colorado State settles on former Oregon coach Kent
Former Oregon coach Ernie Kent has reached a deal in principle to become the next head coach at Colorado State, a source told CBSSports.com late Tuesday.
A formal announcement is expected Wednesday or Thursday.
Kent made two Elite Eights in 13 years at Oregon before being fired after the 2009-10 season. He beat out a host of other candidates Colorado State considered -- among them New Mexico State coach Marvin Menzies, Southern Miss coach Larry Eustachy, Weber State coach Randy Rahe and New Mexico assistant Craig Neal.
Tim Miles coached CSU this past season.
He left last month to take over at Nebraska.
