Brown hires former player and Penn assistant

Brown has hired Penn assistant Mike Martin, multiple sources told CBSSports.com.

Martin was a four-year starter at Brown in the early 2000s and was a part of the winningest class in program history.

Martin spent one season as an assistant at Brown before spending the last six years on the staff at Penn under Glen Miller and Jerome Allen.

Sources also told CBSSports.com that T.J. Sorrentine, the former Vermont star who had been the interim head coach since the dismissal of Jesse Agel, is expected to remain on the staff as Martin's top assistant.

Brown finished 8-23 last season and 2-12 in Ivy league play.
