Badgers' Montee Ball leaves game with head injury

By Tom Fornelli | College Football Writer

The 2012 season has not been as kind to senior running back Montee Ball as he or Wisconsin had hoped it would be.

On Saturday, Ball found the end zone for only the third time this season took a hard hit from a UTEP defender while doing so. Ball looked wobbly when getting up and heading toward the sideline, and Wisconsin announced that he would not be returning to the game because of a head injury.

While all head injuries are serious, what makes Ball's even more so is that he suffered a concussion when he was attacked on campus seven weeks ago. Wisconsin won't want to take any chances with Ball's health.

Earlier in the game, Ball lost the first fumble of his Badgers career and was benched for Wisconsin's next offensive series before returning on the touchdown drive that knocked him out of the contest.
