J.A. Happ (17-4) pitched five innings Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six Angels.
Happ's amazing 11-game winning streak -- which dated back to June 6 -- finally came to an end Thursday. He was dealing early on, retiring 13 batters in a row with six strikeouts, before failing to record an out in the sixth and getting the hook. The left-hander's five-inning outing was the shortest in his last nine starts, and the four runs allowed were his most given up since June 28. He'll look to start a new streak when he toes the rubber for his next start Tuesday in Baltimore.
