Blue Jays' Jose Bautista: Seeking massive contract

Reports have surfaced that Bautista is seeking a five-year deal worth $150 million, the Toronto Star reports.

Assuming this is true, it makes sense why the organization couldn't come to terms on an extension with the slugger before Opening Day. As good as he is, no team in their right mind would pay a 40-year-old $30 million (which is what he would be at the end of a five-year deal). It looks like Bautista will be motivated by money in 2016, as he plays for what will most likely be the final contract of his career.
