Wright has offered to play first base in the absence of Lucas Duda (back), but the Mets are not going to use him at the position for the time being, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
A move across the diamond would seemingly reduce some of the wear and tear Wright absorbs while manning the hot corner, but the Mets are prepared to use Wilmer Flores frequently at first base once he's back from the DL. Until then, Eric Campbell and Ty Kelly are the leading candidates to collect playing time at the position in Duda's absence.
