Conforto was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Matt Ehalt of the Bergen Record reports.
Brandon Nimmo will join the team in time for Saturday's game, replacing Conforto on the roster. Manager Terry Collins hinted earlier in the week that Conforto was on thin ice, and yet another 0-fer Friday was evidently the last straw. Conforto's strong April seems like a distant memory, as he has hit just .119/.182/.237 this month after batting .169 in May.
