Benintendi (knee) will be held out of baseball activities for at least two weeks, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
The Red Sox expected Benintendi to return before the end of the season, but this prognosis is going to make that tough. He won't even be taking the field until mid-September at this rate, and with the minor league schedule over by then, he won't have the opportunity for a rehab assignment. He still might make it back for the last week or two, but for now, the Red Sox will have to ride it out with Chris Young and Brock Holt in left field.
