Will Venable: Granted release Sunday

Venable was informed Sunday that he wouldn't make the Indians' 25-man roster and has been granted his release, MLB.com's Jordan Bastian reports.

The superior Cactus League performance of Tyler Naquin likely ended Venable's bid for a roster spot, as both players are lefty-hitting center fielders. The 33-year-old Venable could still attract interest as a platoon outfielder for another organization.
