Russell (ankle) will play in Sunday's game against Washington, Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News reports.
Russell suffered a right ankle sprain Friday and although X-rays came back negative, the injury still caused the rookie to miss practice Saturday. It is a somewhat surprising move given that the Lakers are completely out of contention in the Western Conference playoff picture, and there is some reservation to be had about how much action Russell will see Sunday. If the Ohio State product does see limited minutes against Washington, expect Lou Williams and Marcelo Huertas to see increased playing time.
