Acy was waived by the Mavericks on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

With the Mavs in need of guard depth, they'll waive Acy to free up a spot in order to sign Jonathan Gibson. Acy, who signed as a free agent in the offseason, had been battling an eye injury over the last few days but was not a fixture in the rotation even before the ailment. While the former Baylor standout is a strong rebounder, he's slightly undersized and is yet to find a permanent home in the NBA, having spent time with four different teams since entering the league in 2012. Acy will now become a free agent and will look to catch on with another team in need of forward depth.
