Bryce Young CAR QB
Panthers' Bryce Young: Valiant effort in loss
13m agoYoung completed 21 of 40 passes for 264 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday's 34-31 wild-card round loss to the Rams. He added three rushes for 24 yards and an additional score.
The Panthers have tried to hide Young for significant stretches of the season, relying on a particularly run-heavy offense. However, the game plan was more aggressive Saturday, as he reached 40 pass attempts for only the third time in 17 total games this season. Young showed particular rapport down the field with Jalen Coker, connecting for gains of 52 and 37 yards. He also scrambled for a 16-yard touchdown just before halftime while delivering a seven-yard passing score to Coker to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. While Young's performance has been volatile throughout the early portions of his career, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Saturday morning that the Panthers are expected to pick up Young's fifth-year option this offseason. That makes it very likely that he will enter the 2026 season as Carolina's starting quarterback.

T.J. Edwards CHI LB
Bears' T.J. Edwards: Won't return Saturday
25m agoEdwards (ankle) has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Packers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
This news doesn't come as much surprise, as Edwards left the game on a cart with an air cast around his leg. His absence will leave a significant hole in the middle of Chicago's defense, particularly hurting it against the run.
-
Tetairoa McMillan CAR WR
Panthers' Tetairoa McMillan: Five catches in playoff loss
28m agoMcMillan recorded five receptions on seven targets for 81 yards in Saturday's 34-31 wild-card round loss to the Rams.
McMillan was overshadowed by Jalen Coker, but he still turned in a solid showing of his own. He particularly played a key role on a touchdown drive in the second quarter, logging consecutive receptions of 14 and 22 yards. Overall, McMillan closed his rookie season having topped 70 receiving yards in three of his last five games, setting him up to take a potential step forward in his sophomore season.
-
Jacob Monk GB C
Packers' Jacob Monk: Suffers biceps inury
38m agoMonk is questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Bears due to a biceps injury.
Monk likely suffered the injury on special teams. The nature and seriousness of the issue are currently unclear, but his absence should not affect the Packers' offense.

T.J. Edwards CHI LB
Bears' T.J. Edwards: Suffers ankle injury
45m agoEdwards suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's wild-card round game against the Packers and is doubtful to return.
Edwards banged his leg off a Packers' wide receiver in accidental contact during the first half, and he was carted off the field with an air cast on his leg. While he's officially doubtful, it would be shocking to see him retake the field. This could conclude an injury-plagued season for Edwards, as he was only able to suit up in 11 total games.

Kyren Williams LAR RB
Rams' Kyren Williams: Catches key TD
1h agoWilliams rushed the ball 13 times for 57 yards in Saturday's 34-31 wild-card round win over the Panthers. He added two receptions on two targets for 18 yards.
Williams wasn't particularly effective as a rusher, with his longest gain of the day going for only eight yards. The Rams were also in a surprising game script, forcing the team to the air and away from the run game. While that combination led to a modest yardage total for Williams, he made a 13-yard touchdown reception midway through the fourth quarter to temporarily put Los Angeles ahead. His performance was saved by the score, but Williams only saw two more touches than Blake Corum -- a usage trend that could continue in the divisional round.
-
Michael Toglia COL 1B
Reds' Michael Toglia: Lands with Reds on MiLB deal
35m agoCincinnati signed Toglia to a minor-league contract Wednesday, per the MLB transactions page.
Toglia looked to be a key part of Colorado's future when he posted a .767 OPS with 25 home runs, 55 RBI and 10 stolen bases over 457 plate appearances for the big-league club in 2024, but the 2019 first-round draft pick dropped off dramatically last year, slashing just .190/.258/.353 with 11 long balls, 32 RBI and three steals across 337 plate appearances. He's always demonstrated plenty of power and went deep 11 times over 42 contests for Triple-A Albuquerque last year, but Toglia has also struggled making a contact, and he posted an awful 39.2 percent strikeout rate with the Rockies in 2025. That was a large part of the reason why Colorado DFA'd and subsequently non-tendered him in November. However, the Reds will give him a chance to make an impression, though Toglia will likely open the season in the minors.

Ken Waldichuk ATL SP
Braves' Ken Waldichuk: Removed from 40-man
6h agoAtlanta designated Waldichuk for assignment Saturday.
Just two days after being claimed off waivers from the Athletics on Thursday, Waldichuk will once again enter the waiver process following Atlanta's addition of Tyler Kinley on Saturday. After missing the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery, the 28-year-old southpaw returned to action at Triple-A but struggled to the tune of an 8.65 ERA and 2.06 WHIP across 51 innings.
-
Tyler Kinley ATL RP
Braves' Tyler Kinley: Back with Atlanta
6h agoKinley signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with Atlanta on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Atlanta declined Kinley's $5.5 million club option for 2026 earlier in the offseason, but the team will now bring the 34-year-old reliever back on a more team-friendly deal that also includes a club option for 2027. Kinley owned a 5.66 ERA and 1.45 WHIP through 47.2 innings when the Rockies shipped him to Atlanta at the trade deadline, at which point the right-hander flipped a switch and posted a 0.72 ERA and 0.68 WHIP across his final 25 frames. He'll likely face a healthy amount of competition for high-leverage opportunities in Atlanta, but his recent body of work should keep him in the mix heading into the new season.

Josh Grosz COL SP
Diamondbacks' Josh Grosz: Shipped to Arizona
9h agoThe Rockies traded Grosz to the Diamondbacks on Saturday in exchange for Jake McCarthy
Grosz spent all of 2025 at the High-A level, posting a 4.67 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 125.1 innings between the Yankees' and Rockies' affiliates. The 23-year-old righty will likely aim to reach Double-A at some point in 2026.
-
Jake McCarthy ARI RF
Rockies' Jake McCarthy: Dealt to Rockies
10h agoThe Diamondbacks traded McCarthy to the Rockies on Saturday in exchange for Josh Grosz.
McCarthy appeared in just 67 games for the Diamondbacks during 2025 and finished the season with a career-low .592 OPS across 222 plate appearances. Moving to Coors Field should help the 28-year-old's chances of bouncing back offensively in 2026, and he'll likely have more opportunities to start in the outfield with the Rockies as well -- primarily against right-handed starters.
-
Kutter Crawford BOS SP
Red Sox's Kutter Crawford: Throws off mound
10h agoCrawford (wrist) threw off a mound Friday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Crawford sat out the entire 2025 season while recovering from both a knee injury and surgery on his wrist. Friday marked the first time he's worked off a mound since going under the knife in July. The 29-year-old righty said Saturday that he is now fully healthy but is a bit behind schedule compared to his typical offseason progression, which may impact his chances of making the Red Sox's rotation immediately out of spring training.
-
Ryan Kalkbrenner CHA C
Hornets' Ryan Kalkbrenner: Won't start in return
31m agoKalkbrenner (elbow) won't start Saturday's game against the Jazz.
Kalkbrenner is available to return from a 10-game absence due to a sprained left elbow, though he'll come off the bench for just the second time this season. Moussa Diabate will remain in the starting five. In his lone appearance off the bench during a loss to New York on Dec. 3, Kalkbrenner posted eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks in 25 minutes.
-
Collin Sexton CHA SG
Hornets' Collin Sexton: Not starting Saturday
1h agoSexton won't start against the Jazz on Saturday.
With LaMelo Ball returning to the starting five, Sexton will slide to the second unit Saturday. Over four appearances off the bench this month, the 27-year-old guard has averaged 15.3 points, 2.5 assists, 1.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals across 23.5 minutes per game.
-
LaMelo Ball CHA PG
Hornets' LaMelo Ball: Returning to first unit
1h agoBall is starting against the Jazz on Saturday.
As expected, Ball is back in his regular role as the Hornets' starting point guard after coming off the bench the last time out purely due to maintenance reasons. Ball is averaging 18.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game over his last five appearances.
-
Taylor Hendricks UTA PF
Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Starting sans Markkanen
1h agoHendricks will start against the Hornets on Saturday.
With Lauri Markkanen (rest) sitting out Saturday's contest, Hendricks will enter the starting five. In five starts so far this season, the 22-year-old forward has averaged 4.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per contest.
-
Dennis Schroder SAC PG
Kings' Dennis Schroder: Suspended for three games
1h agoSchroder has been suspended for three games for "confronting and attempting to strike another player," Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Schroder got into an altercation with an opposing player in an arena hallway following the Kings' loss to the Lakers on Dec. 28. Now, he'll be sidelined for Sacramento's next three outings, and the veteran point guard's next opportunity to play will come Friday against the Wizards. In the meantime, Keon Ellis, Nique Clifford and Malik Monk are candidates for increased playing time.
-
Zaccharie Risacher ATL SF
Hawks' Zaccharie Risacher: Won't suit up Sunday
2h agoRisacher (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Warriors.
Risacher will miss his second consecutive contest due to left knee inflammation, and his next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Lakers. With the second-year forward sidelined, Vit Krejci, Luke Kennard and Corey Kispert are candidates for increased minutes.
-
Brayden Point TB C
Lightning's Brayden Point: Trio of apples in win
9m agoPoint delivered a three-assist performance Saturday in a 7-2 win over Philadelphia.
Point's five-game scoring streak was snapped Tuesday against the Avs, but he's right back on the horse. His overall 29 points in 36 games don't leap off the page, especially for a guy with his pedigree. But Point has really added some nitrous oxide to his game over the last month. He has 18 points, including 11 helpers, and 29 shots in his last 14 games. Point is the sizzle and the steak right now.
-
Nikita Kucherov TB RW
Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: So hot it hurts
16m agoKucherov scored two goals and added two assists in a 7-2 win over Philadelphia on Saturday.
Kucherov is on an eight-game, multi-point scoring streak (nine goals, 13 assists) and a nine-game streak overall (nine goals, 14 assists). Since mid-November, the superstar winger has been held off the score sheet just three times in his last 25 games. In that span, Kucherov has 15 goals and 36 assists. Yes, that's a two-point-per-game pace. Kucherov is so hot right now that it hurts.
-
J.T. Miller NYR C
Rangers' J.T. Miller: Goal may light fire under team
34m agoMiller scored a goal Saturday in a 10-2 loss to Boston.
He has a goal and an assist in two games since his return from injury, and he's on a personal four-game, four-point (two goals, two assists) in his last four games. Miller's overall fantasy contributions this season have been less than managers have expected, but his talent is undeniable. And his grit and intensity could be the antidote to the team's recent woes. The Rangers are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games, and Miller is the team captain. He's the kind of leader that will make his team accountable while leading by example on the ice.
-
Mika Zibanejad NYR C
Rangers' Mika Zibanejad: Five-game, 11-point streak
41m agoZibanejad scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 10-2 loss to the Bruins.
The Rangers as a whole have had a rough ride lately (3-5-2 in their last 10). But Zibanejad has been a bright light in the darkness, putting up five goals and six assists on a five-game scoring streak (12 shots). One of the goals and five of those assists have come on the power play. Overall, Zibanejad has 17 goals, 23 assists and 120 shots in 45 games, and he's on pace for a 30-goal, 73-point campaign. He's a sharp fantasy play as long as your format doesn't value plus-minus. His minus-14 can act like an anchor.
-
Spencer Martin NYR G
Rangers' Spencer Martin: Appears in relief
1h agoMartin stopped 10 of 14 shots in relief in Saturday's 10-2 loss to the Bruins.
It was Martin's first appearance this season. Igor Shesterkin (lower body) is currently on IR, and Jonathan Quick hasn't won since November. The Rangers are 3-5-2 in their last 10, and the team's poor play makes any goalie behind it a sitting duck.
-
Jordan Binnington STL G
Blues' Jordan Binnington: Set to face Vegas
1h agoBinnington is set to start on the road against Vegas on Saturday.
Binnington has been all over the place recently. He has a 4.26 GAA and an .860 save percentage over his past four games, but that stretch includes a 26-save shutout victory over Montreal. The 32-year-old netminder has an 8-11-6 record, 3.55 GAA and .871 save percentage in 26 appearances this campaign. Vegas is tied for 13th in goals per game with 3.14. The Golden Knights have won their past two games while outscoring the competition 9-6.
