Murray (hand) signed a three-year contract extension with the Penguins on Thursday, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
The 22-year-old netminder was an integral part of the Penguins' run to the 2015-16 Stanley Cup and he was rewarded for his efforts by the franchise Thursday. According to Mackey, Murray's extension carries an average annual value of $3.75 million per year starting next season. In the present, Murray is dealing with a hand injury, but he is expected to return to practice Thursday and is on track to return before the end of the month.
