Crosby (concussion) once again skated by himself prior to the Penguins optional practice, Pens Inside Scoop reports.
Crosby has yet to be cleared for contract, which will be the next big step in his recovery. The Pens continue to insist the center is day-to-day but he has been out of the lineup for all four games this season. Given his importance to the team's success and his history of concussions, the team is unlikely to rush the 29-year-old back. At this point, it would probably be a large mistake to drop Crosby in season-long leagues as he seems to be trending in the right direction.
