Golfer recovers clubs after nearly missing Olympics due to airline mistake
Argentine Emiliano Grillo just wanted his clubs back ... and finally got them a day later
Updated on Aug. 9 at 1:32 p.m.
Emiliano Grillo found his clubs. Now he can play the Olympics. There was much rejoicing by Team Argentina and Grillo's camp. Good on him for having a humorous time with the whole ordeal.
I am never letting you go again... Until next flight... 😆

Original story
There are travel issues, and then there are travel issues. The former is me missing a connection en route to the Northern Trust Open and not seeing three hours of live golf. The latter is one of the 40 best players in the world not getting his golf clubs, not being able to find them and potentially missing the Olympics because of it.
Emiliano Grillo, ranked No. 39 in the world, of Argentina is experiencing that scenario as we speak, and it's not looking pretty thus far. Grillo recently contended at the PGA Championship and has been blasting away on social media all day about where in the world (literally) his golf clubs are.
@AmericanAir delays, rerouting and 20+ calls can't find my golf bag. I am going to miss my chance to compete in the Olympics. @Rio2016

If they were pokeclubs they would all be looking for them #Pokemon
@AmericanAir seriously, find me a human in JFK, MIA, or Sao Paolo that can physically look for my bag and confirm where it is and send it.

Dónde crees que están mis palos?

Where do you think my clubs are?
A rough (but somewhat humorous) day for one of the 60 golfers looking to score the first gold medal in golf at the Olympics since 1904. Also, maybe he should consider using one of those "ship your clubs separate from your flight" companies next time.
Used @ShipSticks this week for the first time. Got my clubs in a day. Might never check them again.
