Kevin Na somehow plays final round of Tour Championship under two hours
Na is not normally known for his fast play, but he was straight lightning on Sunday at East Lake
Kevin Na has never been known as a fast player. Well, not until Sunday.
Na played by himself in the final round of the Tour Championship because of an odd number of players remained following Jason Day's withdrawal. Na scooted around East Lake in just under two hours (1:59 to be exact) and even ran on the final few holes to break that two-hour barrier.
"I'll tell you what, nobody's going to break that record shooting even par or better," Na told ESPN. "I birdied the last four holes running. Maybe I ought to run more often."
Jason Sobel of ESPN pointed out that this is thought to be fastest round maybe in modern PGA Tour history.
According to the PGA Tour, official records on time of rounds aren't kept, though Na's sub-2 hour total is believed to be the quickest in memory.
Na actually shot a 70 following rounds of 77, 74 and 72, so maybe he's onto something. Maybe Na really should try this more often.
