I have found my accommodations for next year's Open Championship. If they'll have me, of course.

Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Zach Johnson, Jimmy Walker and Jason Dufner are all sharing a house at the 145th Open this week. None of them are likely to win, but at least it looked like they had a heck of a time.

"It was great," Thomas told PGATour.com. "We were like little kids again. Well, not for me and Jordan, I guess. But them. It was fun."

The group played backyard baseball (Dufner was apparently the home run king) and had some good American cooking (key to handling any week in Scotland).

"Yeah, we've had some really, really good meals," Thomas added. "Last night, we had brisket tacos. We had steaks two nights ago. We had some chicken the night before that, and then before that, we had just a really good salad. He's cooking us (food) like chicken and cheese quesadillas. Just typical Americans, we want to stick with what we know and don't try anything. He's been great. I think he's saved us all, for sure."

Spieth said there was even a little drama earlier in the week though not between the housemates.

"Rickie sent a tweet out [confirming his appearance in the Olympics]," recalled Spieth. "I was sitting right next to him. We're all staying in the same house this week. So he goes, "Well, just sent the tweet out. We'll see when [agent] Sam calls me.'

"I texted Rickie immediately after I decided and said, 'Rick, I'm sorry, buddy, but I'm not going to be joining you down there this year. Sorry about that. I'm obviously going to be rooting for you, bud.' He said, 'No worries. I know you had to make it just for you. You're just going to be jealous when I get that gold.' That's what he said. So that's how it went."

Backyard baseball and Olympic tweeting. Not a world I'm familiar with, but it sounds like it was a great time. Also, a lot of these guys are going to be on the Ryder Cup team so they'll be sharing plenty more meals and houses together.
