Tiger Woods shot a 70 on Wednesday at the Albany course in the Bahamas. Of course, it was a pro-am with four guys who probably can't carry a 200-yard bunker, but it was still nice to see Woods break par. He notched two eagles in the process to go along with two bogeys and 14 pars. He shot 33-37.

"I felt good with pretty much everything," Woods said. "I was able to hit all the shots I needed to hit."

All of this comes on the eve of maybe his most anticipated return to the sport (and there have been a lot of them). Woods tees off on Thursday at noon ET with Patrick Reed in the first round of the Hero World Challenge.

"I'll be focused," he told reporters. "I'll be ready."

It's Christmas Eve for those of us who follow this sport closely, and we have no idea what's underneath the wrapping paper. Will he shoot 75 and withdraw with a back injury? Wednesday's performance says probably no. Will he crack 70 and get the hype train going once again? I kind of doubt it. No matter what happens on Thursday and beyond, I just hope we get a fulfilling final chapter from one of the greatest of all time.
