WATCH: Former Masters champ gets a hole-in-one before Par 3 Contest gets called off
Mike Weir was the co-leader in the Par 3 tournament when it was called for weather
The Par 3 contest at the 2017 Masters was canceled because of weather after less than an hour of play, but that was enough time for 2003 Masters champion Mike Weir to card a hole-in-one for the dayâs best highlight.
Last yearâs Par 3 contest set multiple records with nine hole-in-ones on the day and a new low score by winner Jimmy Walker (8 under), who had an ace of his own on the way to a 19 on the par-27 course at Augusta National.
Weir made it through seven of the nine holes before play was canceled, finishing at the top of the leaderboard in a tie for first place with Brendan Steele at 3 under thanks to this hole-in-one at No. 4.

Only two players, Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson, completed the nine-hole Par 3 course before play. The good news is that strong thunderstorms are in the forecast through Wednesday night but should be gone by Thursday morning, leaving cool and windy conditions (15-25 mph) for Round 1. Wind will be a huge factor for the first two days, but is expected to die down as temperatures rise, heading into a sunny weekend as the field narrows and the race to be champion of the 81st Masters heats up.
