Most golfers love talking about the importance of patience at major championships. I'm pretty sure they're talking about picking your spots and not making big mistakes, but John Senden was rewarded with a special kind of patience at the PGA Championship in Round 1 on Thursday.
Senden hit a putt for par on the par-3 16th hole that hung on the lip for a long time. Like, a really long time. Senden walked around the thing, peered at it from every angle and finally seemed to have given up before it fell in the cup 22 seconds after it first stopped.
The par kept Senden's clean card going through the first seven holes (he started on No. 10).
Wait for it, John Senden...wait for it. https://t.co/qoz0PYRKix
