WATCH: Tiger Woods' swing looks just fine, albeit a tad slow
Woods put on a show, and we got video of his first public shots since this summer
Tiger Woods hosted a private amateur golf tournament this week after withdrawing from the Safeway Open. The event was held in California, and Woods served as swing instructor for a clinic, which means he was pumping 3-woods and hitting irons.
This this noteworthy because we have not seen Woods hit a ball publicly since he dumped three in the water at Congressional earlier this year.
Several folks were on hand for the event and took video of Woods swinging. His swing looks a tad cautious but actually pretty good.
I have not really understood the angst over Woods pulling out of the Safeway Open over performance issues (which he said on Monday). It would be one thing if Woods said his back was acting up again. That would be troubling. But Woods had performance issues at the beginning of 2015 and played in the final three pairings at Augusta a few months later.
The swing looks fine, albeit slow, as his old coach Hank Haney pointed out.
That is no where near on course speed for him. https://t.co/68Afg7kePL

Tiger will return. And, back willing, he will be good again.
