Dusty Baker

Reds manager Dusty Baker is still miffed at Chicago and the Cubs -- before Monday's game with the Cubs, he said he never wants to lose to the Cubs.

"I don't like to lose to them," Baker told reporters (via the Cincinnati Enquirer). "I don't like to lose to places I've been before."

Or, well, more like the Cubs than the Giants, where he started his managerial career.

"Not the Giants as much as the Cubs," Baker told the newspaper. "I was treated better (in San Francisco). I got treated pretty good by some people in Chicago. I got treated pretty poorly by a lot of people in Chicago, especially at the end. That's OK. It's all good."

Last spring, Baker said he got threatening and racist phone calls and letters in his time in Chicago, and even had someone leave feces in the team's dugout.

As for his tenure in Cincinnati, Baker said he doesn't know if he'll be back in 2013, or if he'll be asked back.

"This year, it's my decision as much as ownership's decision," he said.

Baker is 1484-1367 in 18 years as a manager with the Giants, Cubs and Reds. In four seasons with the Reds, he has the exact same record as he did in four seasons with the Cubs -- 322-326, with one playoff appearance for both teams. He was 840-715 in 10 years with the Giants.

"This is the rubber match," Baker said about his tenure in Cincinnati.

Since taking over the Reds, Baker is 35-29 against the Cubs, including a 23-11 mark the last two seasons.
